I wanted to be a pine faller when I was a kid. I spent school holidays in the South East of SA with my grandfather, who ran a logging company out in the pine forests around Nangwarry and Penola. The career plan changed, but the work ethic stuck.

What keeps me coming back after all this time is seeing people realise they can actually do the things they've been working towards. Couples who've spent decades building towards retirement finally getting the green light to book the trip, get the caravan, spend time with the grandkids. A physical relief that they can spend their money, permission with no guilt attached.

Then there's the other side of what we do. Building protection plans for the things nobody wants to think about. When someone can't work anymore and the structures we put in place years ago mean their family is still looked after, that's why we push so hard on getting it right.

I like to practice what I preach, living the lifestyle I help my clients work towards. I’m a keen golfer, fisherman, snow skier, trail runner and boxer. I spend time with my kids, grandkids, extended family and friends. I love to travel, which is often mixed in with fishing or snow skiing.

Over the years, I've done several charity bike rides raising funds for accommodation for regional families in Adelaide for medical treatment.

I enjoy mentoring younger advisers coming through. I’ve continually evolved in this profession, and the strategy side keeps things genuinely interesting.
