A psychometric test once told me I was bad at numbers and shouldn't work in a numbers-based role. I ignored it.
Before joining Synergy, I worked as an Investment Analyst in Sri Lanka, specialising in US listed equities. It gave me a strong technical foundation, but I wanted to be closer to the people behind the numbers. I wanted work that makes a real difference in people's lives, and financial planning does that.
A lot of the people we work with are going through something difficult. Loss, uncertainty, suddenly having to manage finances on their own. Being able to sit with someone, walk them through a clear strategy step by step, and watch the stress physically lift. That's what confirmed I'm in the right place.
Outside office hours, you'll find me reading (a lot), doing Pilates or yoga, solving Sudoku puzzles, experimenting with new recipes, or tutoring economics. One of my long-term dreams is to become at least 90% self-sufficient by growing my own vegetables and fruit.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be? Why?
My younger self, to offer reassurance, perspective, and a reminder that everything works out. I’d also tell her that one day a psychometric test will say she’s bad at numbers and shouldn’t work in a numbers-based role, and to ignore it the moment she hears it.

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl

If you could live in any city in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
Honolulu, Hawaii. I’d love to learn how to surf every day while fully embracing island life. I’m drawn to a lifestyle that’s slower, less stressful, and more connected to nature, ideally living by the beach and spending my days in the ocean.
